Fedor “The Last Emperor” Emelianenko
Biography
Emelianenko has been considered the best heavyweight fighter in the world for the last five years. He is the current World Alliance of Mixed Martial Arts heavyweight champion and the last holder of the PRIDE heavyweight championship. He has won numerous tournaments and accolades in multiple sports, most notably the PRIDE 2004 Grand Prix and the World Combat Sambo Championship on four occasions, as well as medaling in the Russian national Judo championships. Fedor has jumped around from organization to organization after the closing of Pride, but has yet to jump into the octagon for the UFC. He has fought for BodogFight, M-1 Global, Dream and Affliction after leaving Pride. He recently had his first loss in Sambo in over eight years, falling to 23-year old Bulgarian Blagoi Ivanov in the Semi-Finals. Fedor is set to fight Andrei Arlovski on Afflictions, Day of Reckoning card, which is slated for January 24th, 2009.
