Biography
St. Pierre is consider by many as the "new breed" MMA fighter because of his incredible athletic gifts, his well roundedness and his ability to flow from striking to wrestling to grappling so effortlessly. He has trained in nearly a dozen gyms including Canadian Top Team, Renzo Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, multiple boxing gyms and wrestling rooms but is mostly noted for his place on Greg Jackson's Team in New Mexico. After he won his first five fights, all by finishes within two rounds, he made his debut in the UFC. After two wins in the UFC he challenged for the vacant welterweight title against longtime divisional master Matt Hughes and lost by arm bar in the last second of the first round. He would win is next five fights in the UFC and earn a rematch for the title against Matt Hughes where he thoroughly dominated the previous champion and won in the second round by TKO. He would lose his first title defense in a shocking upset to Matt Serra but would win the rematch a year later to become, yet again, the UFC welterweight champion. Notable Wins: Karo Parisyan, Frank Trigg, Sean Sherk, BJ Penn, Matt Hughes (twice), Jon Fitch
