Luiz “Banha” Cane

Biography

Luiz "Banha" Arthur Cane is a Brazilian mixed martial arts fighter who competes in the Light Heavyweight division. His nickname, “Banha” means, “lard” in Portuguese.  He lost his UFC debut at UFC 79 when he threw an illegal knee against a downed James Irvin on December 29, 2007. Cane defeated Jason Lambert by KO at UFC 85 in England. He defeated Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou on October 18, 2008 at UFC 89 in England with a TKO in round two. At UFC 97 he beat Steve Cantwell, winning a hard-fought unanimous decision where he displayed a good chin and disciplined striking ability. Notable wins:  Jason Lambert, Rameau Sokoudjou, and Steve Cantwell.
